Lissa Cruzado, Program Associate
Lissa Cruzado joined NHS in December 2012 as a Program Associate. Ms. Cruzado has worked in the nonprofit sector for 8 years and brings with her extensive experience in program management and community outreach. By coming on board with the NHS of Baltimore team, she is committed to using her expertise to improve access and opportunities for socio-economically disadvantaged populations in the metro area.
Lissa earned her M.A. in Anthropology from George Washington University and enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.
Daniel Ellis, Executive Director
Dan Ellis began serving as Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore (NHSB) in September 2011. Dan brings extensive experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and leadership. Prior to joining NHSB, Dan served as Director of Development for the Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies (ICJS). Prior to his work with ICJS, Dan served as Executive Director of Arundel Habitat for Humanity (AHH) from 2006-2009 where he oversaw a fifty percent growth in homebuilding production over a three year period. Prior to his work with AHH, Dan served as the first Executive Director of Pen Lucy Action Network (PLAN) working in the Pen Lucy neighborhood of north Baltimore from 2000-2006. During his tenure with PLAN, Dan oversaw the growth of the organization from start-up status into a robust organization working in partnership with community leaders. Dan holds a Master of Divinity degree from Alliance Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Education from Bucknell University. John Griffin, Homeownership Advisor
John Griffin became employed with NHS in January 2010 as a Homeownership Advisor. A native of North Carolina, John hold certifications in various areas of training. He attended Morgan State University and brings a great deal of experience to NHS having previously worked for Citigroup, HSBC, and Countrywide. John cites that his biggest joy in working with NHS is simply having the opportunity to help people. Robert Horton, Loan Officer
Robert Horton is the Loan Officer for NHS of Baltimore. He is involved with our Home Improvement, Refinance, and Bridge Loan programs. He has been with NHSB for 4 years. Mr. Horton holds a B.A. in History & Political Science as well as certificates in Loan Servicing, Foreclosure Prevention and Predatory Lending. Eleanor Horvitz, Senior Accountant
Eleanor Horvitz became involved with NHS of Baltimore as a volunteer in 1976. After two years, the organization approached her to work as a full time accountant. Eleanor has worked for NHS of Baltimore since January of 1978. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of Notre Dame and 15 hours CEU in Accounting from Towson University. Before working at NHS of Baltimore, Eleanor worked on the accounting staff at other organizations. This gives her nearly 40 years of experience with accounting. Donica Johns, Program Associate
Donica Johns is a certified Homeownership Advisor through NeighborWorks America. She has been working with NHS of Baltimore since October 2011. Donica holds a BS from the University of Baltimore in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She is dedicated to providing excellent customer service to each person that is filtered through NHS. She believes that the NHS education and counseling services offered are proactive tools for success.
Paul Kirkpatrick, Housing Rehab Specialist
Paul Kirkpatrick, Jr. is the Senior Rehab Specialist for Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore, Inc. He has been employed with NHS for approximately ten years. Before NHS, he was a lead based paint inspector for the Maryland Department of the Environment for 14 years. He is a veteran and was enlisted five years in the Air Force as an Environmental Health technician/inspector prior to working for MDE. He enjoys working for NHS as a rehab specialist because of the opportunities he gets to assist customers whose homes are typically in need of major repairs. firstname.lastname@example.org
Lynette Locke, Director of Resource Development, Marketing and Communications
Lynette Locke is Director of Resource Development, Marketing, and Communications for NHS. Ms. Locke joined NHS of Baltimore in 2012. Throughout her professional career, she has been a primary steward of core messages and brand strategies, working with volunteers and staff to develop and implement creative and innovative marketing and promotional objectives in support of key mission-delivery and fund-raising goals.
Lynette has more than 20 years of integrated marketing and communications experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Towson State University and is a published journalist.
Marsha Lewis, Senior Accountant
Marsha S. Lewis is a long time staffer with NHS of Baltimore, serving the organization for 20 years. She works in bookkeeping and accounting. She believes in NHS of Baltimore’s mission, which has encouraged her longevity with the organization. In her free time she enjoys camping, bowling and reading. email@example.com
Cassandra Robb, Homeowner Lending Manager
Cassandra Robb began her career with Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore, Inc. over 20 years ago. She currently manages a lending pipeline of more than seven hundred thousand dollars in addition to oversight responsibilities for the NHS of Baltimore Home Improvement department. Mrs. Robb manages monitors and tracks the status of the organization's housing rehabilitation cases, reviews bid packages, conducts settlements and prepares post settlement documents as a key component of the organizations’ mission to preserve sustainable homeownership. Mrs. Robb also provides support for the development and implementation of property management procedures for NHS acquired property. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Auburn University in Alabama. Mrs. Robb is a certified Non-Profit Mortgage Broker and is certified under NeighborWorks America's Full Cycle Lending. Rena Somar, Homeownership Advisor
Rena Somar has been with NHS of Baltimore for 4 years. For the past 2 years she has been on staff as a housing counselor and is certified by NeighborWorks America. She is currently in school at Baltimore City Community College working on her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She believes NHS of Baltimore can make a difference by sustaining communities through homeownership and education. Tanya Washington, Chief Operating Officer
Tanya Washington has been with NHS of Baltimore for over 17 years in various capacities from Assistant Director of Administration to Deputy Director. In those positions she was responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the organization as well as grant administration. Tanya Washington holds a Master’s Degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University.
Jacqueline Wilson, Loan Processor
Jacqueline Wilson has been with NHSB for 12 years in the capacity as Program Assistant. In 2008, she was promoted as a Loan Processor in the lending department. Her dedication to clients goes well beyond the usual paperwork; she is dedicated to helping families feel comfortable in their home buying decisions while enjoying their homes. In her spare time, she is a student at the Faith Theological Seminary where she will obtain her Associate Degree in Divinity.
