Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30pm

FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Salary: $50,000

PURPOSE

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator plays a key operational and creative support role within the Marketing Department, helping NHS strengthen its visibility, communicate its impact, and increase engagement with customers, partners, donors, and community members.

This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives, including content creation, campaign coordination, social media management, email communications, marketing requests, and brand consistency. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can manage multiple projects, maintain brand consistency, and help NHS share its programs, impact, and customer stories with key audiences.

Marketing Campaign & Program Support

  • Support the execution of marketing and communications campaigns that promote NHS programs, services, events, and organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with campaign planning, timelines, content calendars, promotional materials, and followup communications.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather program information, deadlines, customer stories, and marketing needs.
  • Support promotional efforts for programs including homebuyer education, financial coaching, lending programs, community development initiatives, and special events.
  • Monitor and organize internal marketing requests to support timely completion of projects.

Content Creation & Communications

  • Create and edit content for social media, newsletters, blogs, flyers, event materials, customer stories, and other communications.
  • Develop engaging messaging that aligns with NHS’s brand, mission, and organizational goals.
  • Support storytelling efforts by identifying and highlighting customer experiences, community impact, and program successes.
  • Review marketing materials for accuracy, consistency, grammar, formatting, and brand alignment.

Digital Marketing & Email Communications

  • Manage day-to-day social media activities, including scheduling, posting, engagement, and basic performance tracking.
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns, newsletters, event communications, and audience outreach.
  • Maintain accurate email marketing lists, including contact updates, segmentation support, and list organization.
  • Support HubSpot activities including email campaigns, contact management, forms, and basic reporting.
  • Assist with basic website content updates, including program updates, blogs, events, and announcements.

Marketing Operations & Systems Support

  • Maintain marketing calendars, project trackers, shared files, templates, and content libraries.
  • Support the organization and upkeep of marketing systems, tools, and workflows.
  • Coordinate with vendors, designers, photographers, printers, and other external partners as needed.
  • Assist with creative requests, approvals, production timelines, and marketing deliverables.
  • Track basic marketing performance metrics related to campaigns, social media, email, and events.

Event & Outreach Support

  • Provide marketing and communications support for workshops, community events, outreach activities, graduations, and organizational events.
  • Assist with event promotion, registration communications, signage, printed materials, social media coverage, and post-event follow-up.
  • Support collection of event photos, testimonials, and content for future marketing efforts.

Team Contribution

  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to improving marketing processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Stay informed on marketing trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Perform additional tasks and assist with special projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit communications, or related fields.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content required.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and content management systems preferred.
  • Experience creating graphics and marketing materials using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of cross-functional teams.
  • Valid government-issued ID.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Satisfactory reference check.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Social media management, content creation, and digital communications skills.
  • Professional writing, editing, proofreading, and content development skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing coordination, campaign support, and communications planning.
  • Experience using marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Canva, email marketing tools, and social media scheduling platforms preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of website content management, analytics, and digital engagement tracking preferred.
  • Strong project coordination, organization, and administrative skills.
  • Interest in nonprofit communications, community development, affordable housing, or mission-driven work preferred

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
