BALTIMORE, MD — July 5, 2022 — Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of Baltimore, a trusted name in sustainable homeownership services, has launched a new loan product aimed at making homebuying easier.
The new NHS Mortgage looks to take the complexity out of the homebuying process. NHS offers a one-stop shop of services to move customers from dreamers to homeowners in a seamless process.
“As we continue to grow as a community development financial institution, we recognize that these are the types of products and services that give more Baltimore residents a fair shot at homeownership,” says Dan Ellis, Executive Director and CEO of Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore. “We are invested in knowing what our residents and neighborhoods need to thrive, and we look forward to our continued work in helping to build a more equitable and connected Baltimore.”
The NHS Mortgage provides an extra layer of services to help homeowners better navigate the homebuyer process.
“The real selling point of this loan is our ability to harness all our services to provide a comprehensive and seamless homebuying experience for all homebuyers. A customer can start out learning the ins and outs of the homebuying process through our educational workshops and end up buying one of several homes we are buying and updating throughout the community,” says Kareema Pinder, Director of the Homebuying Center for NHS. “Our NHS Mortgage is just one example of the numerous investments that benefit the health of the local economy.”
NHS is a community development financial institution that believes social and economic justice are a right for all people and communities. We seek social and economic justice by removing barriers to sustainable homeownership for members of the Baltimore community. In 2021, NHS helped 384 new homeowners in Baltimore.
